Elizabeth and John’s wedding was a romantic affair, full of southern charm and dripping with elegance. Nods to Florida’s citrus industry were present throughout the celebration.
Believe it or not, I was the florist for Elizabeth’s mother and father - Scott and Patty Peelen. They were married years ago in the very same church and country club as their daughter! It meant the world to me that Patty would choose me to help with her daughter’s wedding flowers! Elizabeth’s sisters - Mary Hillyer and Sarah - along with Patty, were all instrumental in helping plan Elizabeth’s wedding day.
All Saints Episcopsal Church in Winter Park provided a stunning backdrop as the couple exchanged their vows. The dark wood pews, stained glass windows and high ceilings were timeless and elegant. Elizabeth was a radiant bride and her father beamed with pride as he ushered her down the aisle.
Elizabeth’s grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Patterson Jr., donated the pew candelabras to the church which would be used for all three daughter’s weddings. This beautiful gift allowed them to be present in spirit at the wedding.
For the bouquets Elizabeth chose phalaenopsis orchids with Italian ruscus, white playa blanca roses and white spray roses. Her bold choice of white bridesmaid dresses really added a touch of sophistication and a unique vintage flair.
For the Reception we incorporated the vast inventory of Patty’s heirloom family china, and silver candlesticks, trays, champagne buckets and punch bowls. We adorned the tables with centerpieces created from heirloom crystal stemware, crystal compotes, crystal punch bowls and crystal candle holders. Let’s not forget the beautiful monogrammed napkins and table runners! Utilizing family heirloom’s for the table decor set the tone for an exquisite day, full of special family touches and lots of southern charm!
Three different table centerpieces were alternated on the tables. The high-low combination of floral arrangements created movement and playfulness in the ballroom. The first centerpieces were designed by The Tiny Orchid Company and utilized Patty’s large silver punch bowls and overflowing pots of white phalaenopsis orchid plants. The second and third style of floral arrangements were created by Fairbanks Florist. For the second style of table centerpiece, we used Patty’s large crystal punch bowls which were filled with low abundant blooms of green and white hydrangea, green hypericum berries, ruscus and Florida oranges. The third table design was created using our stunning 36” tall silver candelabra with four 18” tall white taper candles and abundant white and green hydrangea, green hypericum berries, white classic and spray roses, Florida oranges and Italian ruscus.
A live band set created a party atmosphere for guests and everyone quickly hit the dance floor! Even the bride herself took the stage.
Elizabeth and John made their exit through a shower of sparklers surrounded by friends and family. The love birds rode off into the night in a ‘57 Rolls Royce to begin their next adventure together!
