When first meeting with Brittany, Barrett, and their wedding planner, Lisa Stoner of Lisa Stoner Events, the thought of bringing the outdoors in, creating an actual garden in a ballroom, and transforming a box space into something ethereal could have seemed daunting.
However, the lack of pictures from this vision ever being done before, the custom-made pieces that would have to be developed, and the overall trust that the couple and wedding planner needed to have in me was, well…
a match made in floral heaven!
This was not only a dream wedding for Brittany and Barrett, but for our floral team as well. The amount of inventiveness and determination we would need to bring Brittany, Barrett, and Lisa’s vision to life was profound, and we were up for the task.
How the planning process worked:
Working with Lisa Stoner Events, we knew this wedding would fit the couple’s personality uniquely. She is known for creating a vision for each of her couples that is truly a reflection of their own dreams, and this one was no exception.
Lisa came to our creative meetings with a distinct garden vision and diagrams to match. We collaborated together to sketch out what the wedding could look like and then our floral team was given the go ahead to make it happen.
Brittany, Barrett, and Lisa provided our team with the trust and flexibility needed for the best possible designs. Instead of being limited to specific flowers and greenery, we were able to go to market, find the most lush blooms and foliage available and turn the indoors into a dream garden.
Here’s what it looked like:
Brittany’s bridal bouquet was a a stunning collection of white roses, ranunculus, and peonies tightly secured with flowing ribbon.
The bridesmaids, accented in varying colors of blush pink, silvers, and golds, carried miniature versions of Brittany’s bouquet, bringing in a slight uniformity to the look of the different dresses.
After the church ceremony, Brittany and Barrett’s guests were greeted at The Alfond Inn where an acrylic seating chart, displayed amongst a wall of greenery and white roses, invited them to take to their gold, architectural seats.
Once inside, guests were awed at the transformed ballroom and enjoyed an evening immersed in a botanical wonderland.
Ten foot x ten foot panels dripping with greenery grandly sat in each corner of the ballroom, bringing in a soft foliage feel as though rambling vines were climbing everywhere. They served as a backdrop to one of the bars as well as seating, filling the room with elegant enchantment.
Amongst grey drapery, star-studded lighting, and cascading centerpieces, guests dined in candlelight as though they were in a fairytale garden.
One of the stunning foliage panels was also the backdrop to the white cake, which made for a stand-out piece in the room.
As the first dance commenced and a night filled with much celebration followed, the dance floor boasted a 12 foot long cascading greenery chandelier, in front of white lights that seemed as though everyone was dancing amongst the stars.
How we made it happen:
We believe successful design and creation is a collaboration between a couple, their wedding planner (if applicable), and our floral design team.
Within that collaboration, the most important aspect to us is trust.
Brittany, Barrett, and Lisa had to trust me and my team to make their dream happen. There were no exact visual inspirations, just thoughts, concepts, and drawings of what could be.
Because they allowed me and my team freedom and the ability to adjust things as needed, we were able to bring their dream to life. What a phenomenal experience for us all.
“One of my highest honors is when clients see my drawings, and trust that in me that their vision will come to life to be one of a kind.” - Lana Faulkner
